Our galaxy | Milky way


Milky way is our home galaxy. It is a normal spiral galaxy.

Size of milky way is about 120,000 light year. There is over 200 billion stars in the galaxy.

As most other galaxies, a giant super massive black hole is sitting in the center of Milky way. The name of the center black hole is Sagittarius A*.

Milky way is a middle weight galaxy. The largest known galaxy IC 1101 has over 100 trillion stars and other big galaxies can have more than a trillion stars.
